Hakuna Matata was born from courage, nostalgia, and family.

Just two months after arriving in the United States from Cuba in 2017, the founders opened their first location as a small pickup and takeout spot. Their goal was simple: recreate the flavors they missed from home, especially Cuban-style pizza, a unique and nostalgic favorite that was hard to find.

As their loyal customers continued to grow, so did the requests for a place to sit and enjoy the experience. That’s when the family decided to expand and create a welcoming dine-in space. A restaurant where families, friends, and the community could gather around great food.

The project was also inspired and supported by the godfather of the owners, a close family friend who believed in their vision and helped them bring the business to life. From day one, the philosophy has remained the same: if you maintain product quality and exceptional customer service, customers will come.

We want to create a welcoming space for families and the community to gather and experience authentic Cuban pizza and Cuban-inspired cuisine with a twist.
